Mission 2025: Read all about it!
I realised recently why I have been reluctant to offer more art workshops. It’s not because I don’t enjoy them…because I do. I get so much pleasure from watching other people discover they can enjoy painting simply for the sake of it. For how it makes them feel. How it has the ability to switch off all the ‘noise’ of daily life and allow them to disappear into an alternative more relaxing place. I’ve also witnessed it change the narrative for some people who believed that they were no good at art. Giving them the confidence to go away and continue their own explorations.
So these are some of the bits I LOVE about running creative expression art workshops. The bits that excite me about sharing my passion with others. Why it’s important for me to offer them. Painting has changed my life. It has changed me and changed how I view myself. Not overnight…but it’s been a gradual process. I am proud of being an artist. I know that many people still regard it as a ‘hobby’ activity but not me. It’s the most important thing I’ve ever done. It shapes my whole life. How I am in the world. It enables me to be myself. To show up as myself…every single day!
So the reason I have launched MISSION 2025 is because I realised that I don’t like the setting up & packing away part. Additionally multi-use venue spaces lack the personal touch. They are deliberately kept ‘neutral’ in many ways to appeal to a range of audiences. Therefore I need to do something to change this.
I am therefore seeking a venue near Woodbridge, Suffolk where I can create a welcoming ‘nest’ to come into. Filled with flowers and little bits of nature every where. A place that I can call home for ‘Art Play’ & ‘Baby Bird’ & many more dreams yet to come to fruition. A space that others will feel at home in too the moment that they come through the door. They will actually feel their heart lighten as they come in.
That’s what Mission 2025 is all about. I’m raising funds to make this dream become a reality & I’m searching for the right space too. I’m hoping the universe will support me in this endeavour.
