Let’s Get Creative!

NEWSFLASH….WE ARE ALL CREATIVE!!!

I started my monthly art workshops as my way of spreading the love that art had offered to me. It was through experiencing mental health issues in my mid-fifties that I started painting & I found it calming, relaxing & truly liberating. I was able to paint for hours and hours and found my problems disappeared when I was painting, offering me respite from the noises in my head. It was my way of processing my inner and outer landscape.

I have heard so many people tell me they are not creative in the slightest. I’m here to tell you that they’re all wrong. We are all born creative…as children we know this and have so much fun creating…simply playing. Children don’t anticipate outcomes and want ‘perfect’ pictures they just enjoy the opportunity to lose themselves in a fun activity.

My adult art workshops offer you the opportunity to remember this. It’s quite simple really. In the two hour sessions we simply remember how to have fun. Doing something purely for the sake of it. We have paints, brushes & paper…and we don’t worry about creating perfect pictures we simply enjoy the process. Of mixing colours, getting a large paint brush & spreading the paint across the page, then mixing another colour & see what happens next. Maybe choosing a little paintbrush & smaller piece of paper. Exploring our creative preferences. It’s fun. It’s liberating & we can all do it! If you get out of your own way magic happens. You find you enjoy yourself & remember how freeing it is not to worry about results & rules. Just simply having a go.

All my workshops are in small groups to allow people to feel safe enough to express themselves freely. Each session is slightly different so I have found people come back again (& again) which is wonderful. I get very excited seeing people explore their creative side in this way…even some artists have been along & they found the sessions freeing.

So come on…let’s get creative!

Big love, Corinne x
